Experts in MRI Shielding Design
One team, from concept to closeout
Don’t gamble with image quality, safety clearances, or your budget by leaving shielding and room interfaces to chance. We design and coordinate the full MRI room shielding scope—RF and magnetic—so your project installs cleanly and passes acceptance the first time.
FAQ: MRI Room & Medical Imaging Shielding
Most MRI rooms require RF shielding (to block radiofrequency interference) and may also require magnetic shielding (to manage fringe field and site constraints). The exact scope depends on the scanner model, surrounding spaces, and the facility layout.
The key inputs are: the scanner make/model and site planning requirements, room dimensions and construction details, a penetration list (power, data, HVAC, sprinkler, etc.), and the adjacency plan (what rooms are next to/above/below). With these, we can produce calculations and drawings that coordinate cleanly with architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical plans.
A successful outcome comes from three things: code- and OEM-aligned design, proper detailing at every interface (doors, windows, seams, penetrations, grounds), and field coordination during installation. After install, shielding performance is typically confirmed through site testing to verify RF integrity and, when applicable, magnetic field conditions meet requirements.
